COMO Kids Before and After School Programs - Elementary and Middle School Students
COMO Kids is more than just before and after care. Our highly-trained and compassionate staff are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and fun atmosphere with a curriculum that emphasizes educational and social growth. COMO Kids enjoy access to the entire 16-acre COMO campus with activities that spark curiosity, encourage exploration, fuel imaginations, and promote healthy friendships and community building.
Opportunities for educational, creative, and recreational pursuits abound on the COMO Campus! COMO Kids will:
Flex their creative muscles in the COMO Pottery Studio
Problem-solve using emerging technology in the COMO Makerspace

COMO Kids Before School - Begins at 7 a.m.
Start their day off right! Parents can drop off children at the COMO as early as 7 a.m. where they are greeted by enthusiastic COMO teachers and engaging activities! COMO Kids kick off their school day in a relaxed, supportive and creative environment - by the time the bus picks them up at the COMO they are well on their way to a successful day!
COMO Kids After School - Ends at 6 p.m.
In the afternoon, students in Stonington Schools may take the bus from their school to the COMO. Aftercare runs until 6 p.m. Activities may include: a Homework Zone curriculum, with the goal of providing a quiet space and homework help when needed; sessions in the pottery studio and makerspace; athletics lessons with the COMO’s Athletic Director; outdoor exploration on the playground, in the garden, or in the outdoor classroom; and special seasonal projects and crafts! Children also have the opportunity to participate in a series called Art Explorations & Scientific Studies that offers carefully crafted lessons designed to enhance and expand upon their appreciation and understanding of science and the arts.
COMO Kids Middle School Youth
COMO Kids offers specialized break-out opportunities for middle school youth. Activities are developed to take into account this specific developmental age with the goal of inspiring students to build social ties, foster community, and develop their individual interests.
Flexible Scheduling:
COMO Kids before and after school care is a monthly tuition-based program with flexible scheduling options to meet your needs. Students can register for two, three, four, or five-day care. COMO membership is required to enroll in COMO Kids.
Our dedicated and experienced COMO Kids staff use a child-centered approach to create a safe, supportive, and fun atmosphere with a curriculum that emphasizes educational and social growth. COMO Kids also benefit from the expertise of our STEAM & Athletic Directors during weekly classes.
Multiculturalism and Diversity within our Curriculum: Our programs establish and maintain collaborative relationships with each child’s family and are sensitive to family composition, language, and culture. Teachers gain information about the ways families define their own race, religion, home language, culture, and family structure and use that information to adapt the curriculum and teaching methods to the families served. Children are provided with equal opportunities to discuss and participate in leadership roles, and in activities such as dramatic play where children may choose to participate in non-stereotypical roles. Language diversity is incorporated into the curriculum and the physical space of our classrooms. Materials and equipment used to implement the curriculum reflect the lives of the children and families as well as the diversity found in society. Visual images of adult roles, differing abilities, and ethnic or cultural backgrounds that counter stereotypical limitations are prevalent.

COMO Kids After Care Program Discount: Receive a 10% discount for all COMO after school enrichment programs if the desired program falls on a day in which they are simultaneously enrolled in COMO Kids using the code "ADDPROGRAM10" when registering. Only applies to program fees.
Sibling Discount: Families with more than one child enrolled in a tuition-based program, may receive 10% off the lower-priced sibling(s) tuition if all children are enrolled in tuition-based programs at the same time. Use the code ADDSIBLING10 when registering. Applies to additional registrations only.
